Free teaching toolkit · Draft for school review
Make the next lesson clearer.
Three practical worksheets to adapt to your own teaching context.
No membership or signup required. These draft tools support lesson planning and learner reflection; they are not a trade procedure, clinical guidance, or a replacement for your school’s safety requirements. Specialist and learner review of the wider curriculum is still needed.
Plan one clear demonstration.
Choose a task within your teaching scope. Identify the essential technical and safety requirements before choosing how to demonstrate it.
- Learning goal: What should the learner be able to show by the end?
- Ready to begin: What prior knowledge, equipment, supervision, and safety checks are required?
- Manageable steps: List the sequence. Where will you pause, explain an unfamiliar term, or show a closer view?
- Check understanding: What will learners explain or demonstrate before independent practice is appropriate?
- Practice and feedback: How will you notice progress and offer one useful next step?
Make the lesson easier to follow.
- State the goal and explain why the task matters.
- Check that learners can see and hear the demonstration.
- Use plain language; explain unfamiliar terms.
- Provide a short written or visual sequence where useful.
- Break the demonstration into manageable stages.
- Make time for questions and checks for understanding.
- Ask what would help instead of assuming needs from a diagnosis.
- Offer appropriate ways to practice or show learning while keeping essential standards.
- Give specific, respectful feedback on the work.
- Ask learners what was clear and what needs another explanation.
One change I will try next lesson:
Choose your next step.
Complete independently or discuss with your instructor. You do not need to share a diagnosis or personal medical information.
- Something I want to make, learn, or improve:
- Why this matters to me:
- A small step I can practice:
- Something that would help me participate:
- How I will notice progress:
- When I will check in with my instructor:
